The Coordinating Unit of Associations of Persons with Disabilities (CUAPWD) was set up in 2005, as a result of the need to coordinate advocacy efforts of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities working in the North West region of Cameroon. Over the years, the Network has grown to 157 member organizations and is also expanding from the North West to the South West and West regions of Cameroon.

Our Motto “Nothing Without Us” reflects the strong desire by persons with disabilities to meaningfully and effectively participate in all facets of community and national life. Hence our Vision “Seeking for an Inclusive Society in the political, economic and Socio-cultural life for all” and Mission “Work with persons with disabilities and other stakeholders to create an enabling and inclusive society for all” gives the organization a driving force that seeks to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the remotest areas of our scope of work. Member OPDs have a well-structured platform following the administrative layout of Cameroon (Subdivision, Division, Region, and Central), and every type of impairment has a fair opportunity to speak and be listened to
