My dear CUAPWD leaders, Brothers, and Sisters,
As we approach the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), I am filled with immense pride and hope.
This year’s theme, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,”is not just a call to action; it is a reflection of our collective journey, struggles, and unyielding determination.
Our Resilience Defines Us
This year tested us in ways we could never have imagined. We faced setbacks, systemic barriers, and moments of doubt. Yet, here we stand stronger, louder, and more united than ever. Each of you has demonstrated the power of perseverance, proving that disability does not diminish ability, but rather fuels innovation, resilience, and leadership.
Beyond Celebration: A Blueprint for Action
This year, let us move beyond symbolic gestures. The theme challenges us to:
✅ Seize leadership roles in policy, business, and community development
✅ Demand accountability in implementing the UNCRPD and SDGs
✅ Break barriers in accessibility, education, and employment
✅ Amplify our voices in decision-making spaces—because nothing about us without us is non-negotiable
