CUAPWD’s OPD Shape the Future of Accessible Information
In a critical step toward ensuring the #IMAPVI project truly serves the needs of persons with disabilities, CUAPWD convened a strategic meeting with leaders from Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs). Supported by Liliane Fonds, this collaborative session aimed to align the project’s vision with the lived experiences of those it seeks to empower.
A Shared Vision for Accessibility
The meeting served as both an introduction to #IMAPVI, which produces Braille and audiobooks for educational and rights-based materials, and a forum for OPD leaders to shape its implementation. Key discussion points included:
• Identifying priority content (legal documents, academic texts, advocacy resources) for conversion into accessible formats
• Strategies for distribution to reach rural and underserved communities
• Ensuring long-term sustainability through partnerships with schools, libraries, and government agencies
“This project isn’t just about creating resources, it’s about dismantling barriers to knowledge and autonomy,” emphasized one OPD leader.

Participants shared invaluable insights, such as:
