Kicking off the pilot phase of CUAPWD’s Educational Program
Over 30 Persons with Disabilities have benefited from the pilot phase CUAPWD’s Educational Program. In the
Cameroonian context, a good number of persons live with one or multiple disabilities and on average almost every household has a disable person.
However, the possibilities of these disabled persons who range from Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Mobility Impairment, Mental Impairment just to name a few, to access education and receive proper training is very low. The few who are opportune to be educated most often limit their education to the primary and secondary levels while many end up in specialized training centers and only a few manage to go into higher educational institutions.
On Friday, September 3 rd 2021, CUAPWD kicked off her Educational Program by donating some basic school needs and stationery to persons living with disabilities in Bamenda. This program is aimed at providing aid and support to persons living with disabilities and are going to school.
This effort was also supported by the Nkah Engineering Group and some other private donors, who provided both financial and material.
